Genuine-ID Verification software sets new standards for performance and Face Matching

Jena, March 2, 2026 – jenID, a provider of identity verification, age verification, and document verification solutions, has released a comprehensive update to its Genuine-ID verification software. The update focuses on a significant performance boost, a high-performance facial recognition process, and new applications for modern IT and cloud environments.
With this latest version, the company—which specializes in verifying identification documents such as passports, driver’s licenses, and certificates—specifically addresses the needs of banks, fintechs, telecommunications providers, mobility and platform operators that rely on fast, reliable, and scalable verification of identification documents.
Faster processing with consistently high verification quality thanks to AI models
A key goal of this version was to accelerate verification processes. AI models now operate more efficiently and quickly—without compromising recognition quality.
The OCR (optical character recognition) rate has also been further improved and now stands at up to 97.2 percent. In addition, multiple documents can be processed in parallel, which noticeably reduces the total processing time during periods of high volume—such as at car rental companies.
At the same time, image processing has been made more robust: even rotated, portrait-oriented, or very high-resolution images up to 750 DPI can be reliably verified.
In-house Face Matching as a Strategic Move
A highlight is the new high-performance face-matching process. For the first time, no third-party solution is used.
The new algorithm is based on a modern architecture and delivers significantly improved comparison quality while maintaining high processing speed. For users, this means greater independence, reduced integration complexity, and a consistent system architecture from a single source.
Full Linux support and new REST API for flexible integrations
With this release, the company is introducing a REST-based interface for Genuine-ID LAB SDK for the first time. The new API significantly simplifies integration with existing IT systems and cloud environments.
Integrated documentation helps developers implement the solution quickly. Deployment is via a Docker image that has already been successfully tested in a beta phase with customers.
For the first time, full Linux support is also offered on Intel x64 platforms—an important step for companies with modern server and cloud infrastructures.
Expanded document support as well as enhanced security and stability
This release expands data extraction capabilities, for example for German birth certificates, which can now capture additional information such as place of birth, date of issue, and issuing authority. In addition, new templates are available for U.S. driver’s licenses, while existing document types have been further optimized.
At the same time, newly trained algorithms for tampering and signature detection enhance security. Further optimizations improve stability and reduce memory requirements—particularly when processing large or high-resolution documents.
Future-proof platform for digital identity verification
With this latest release, jenID is consistently advancing its verification software—toward a powerful, flexibly integrable platform for digital identity and document verification. Companies benefit from faster processes, simplified integration, and a solution that combines performance, security, and scalability.
“With our new release, we are taking a decisive step toward technological independence and future-proofing. Our fully in-house developed document face-matching process gives us maximum control over quality, performance, and further development—without relying on third-party providers. At the same time, with the new Linux-based deployment, including a modern REST interface, we are laying the foundation for particularly flexible and scalable integration into existing IT and cloud architectures,” summarizes Michael Weisbach, CEO of jenID Solutions.
How document verification works with Genuine-ID
Identity verification takes place in real time via a smartphone, tablet, computer, or standard multifunction device (printer/scanner). A photo or scan of the front and back of the required ID document (ID card, passport, driver’s license, etc.) is taken.
The image is immediately sent to jenID’s global database. This database contains templates from over 140 countries. Within seconds, the AI checks the document for numerous security features. The global database is also continuously trained by jenID and learns from every verification process.
All servers are located in Germany and are subject to German data protection laws. The solution is user-friendly and requires no special knowledge on the part of employees.
